Crabb Family's 'The Walk' climbs to number one May 22, 2003
HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn.-While taking a much-needed vacation in Hawaii, The Crabb Family learned that their current single, "The Walk," climbed to the number one position on the national radio chart for the month of July according to the Singing News Magazine.
"The Walk" is the first single from the Crabb Family's debut Daywind Records release, The Walk. It features the lead vocals of Adam Crabb, along with siblings, Jason Crabb, Kelly Bowling, Aaron Crabb and Terah Penhollow. The song, penned by patriarch Gerald Crabb, takes listeners back to the time and place of their personal walk and decision to follow Christ.
"When we decided to single the song, I was really nervous. I had never been featured on a single, so I was scared about how radio would respond. As we began to sing "The Walk" live and I witnessed how audiences responded, I felt a little more comfortable, but I was still nervous about radio. The higher on the charts the song went, the more nervous I got. This past week, I was playing on the beach in Hawaii with my baby girl, Hannah Grace, when I heard that the song reached number one. I was so excited, but very humbled at the same time. Everyone has always been so supportive of our family, but it just feels more personal to me now. I'm honored that the song touched people and they responded so positively," stated Adam Crabb.
From their humble beginnings, The Crabb Family continues to captivate audiences nation wide with their exciting performances and spirit-filled songs. The five siblings carry the legacy of their parents to venues across the county, including the Grand Ole Opry and Carnegie Hall. With their cumulative radio success and numerous awards, The Crabb Family is a leader in the Southern Gospel industry.

Christian Davis changes name of new group adds new members May 19, 2003
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Christian Davis is announcing plans to change the name of his newly founded quartet. Originally named Freedom Voice Quartet, the group will now be known as Christian Brothers Quartet. The change comes after learning of another southern gospel group by the same name.
“Shortly after announcing Freedom Voice Quartet as our ministry name, we learned about a trio in Ohio named Freedom Voice. We immediately began searching for a new name,” said Davis regarding the decision to change the name. “We are extremely pleased with the new name.”
In addition to changing the name, Davis is also pleased to announce the members who will be joining him in the new group. The new members are Byron Pritchard, Craig Odell, and Michael Hayes.
Byron Pritchard, the new lead singer with an incredible vocal range, is from Fayetteville, NC. Although this is Byron’s first position in a full-time quartet, he has worked and traveled with many of today’s established Southern Gospel artists, including Jake Hess. Pritchard is a graduate of Methodist College with a degree in vocal performance. He currently works in Mill-West Studios as a producer, engineer, and background vocalist. Pritchard is also the brother of Wesley Pritchard of the Old Friends Quartet.
Craig Odell of Murfreesboro, TN is the new baritone for the Christian Brothers Quartet. Odell is often lauded as one of the smoothest baritones in the industry and formerly sang with N*Harmony until it disbanded last year. Since N*Harmony disbanded, Craig has been teaching middle school in Murfreesboro, TN and filling in for other gospel groups.
Filling in the tenor position is Michael Hayes of Spivey’s Corner, NC. Michael is a powerful, full-voice tenor who has sung with Heavenbound and most recently Chapter IV.
"I am very excited about the men who are joining me in the formation of the Christian Brothers Quartet. These young men are not only talented singers, but each one has a strong Christian testimony,” said Davis.
"After praying about it and receiving offers from other groups, nothing seemed to fit,” said Craig Odell, new baritone. “When I was approached by Christian, it just felt right. It was an answer to prayer.”
Christian also wished to thank everyone who applied and auditioned for the group. He also requests everyone’s prayers as the group begins rehearsals.
Christian Brothers Quartet’s booking will be done through the Dominion Agency. The group is currently booking dates for later in the year. If you wish to book the Christian Brothers Quartet, please call (910) 484-6996
