Paul Corbin, Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Nashville, and Joyce Rice, Director, Writer/Publisher Relations, Nashville, handed out the Citations of Achievement recognizing 28 songs among six categories, with the presentation culminating in the announcements of Christian Song, Songwriter, and Publisher of the Year (including all genres).

Special performances were given by Dottie Peoples, Mark Schultz, and the quartet CrossWay for the crowd of two hundred writers, artists, and executives.

New April Potter Agency sign Mark Trammell Trio June 28, 2002
GOODLETTSVILLE,TN (Press Release) Effective immediately, April Potter-Holleman announces the formation of a new booking agency, called April Potter Agency.

April's roots in gospel music begin at a ripe old age. April states, "My parents, grand-parents and great-grand parents were all gospel music lovers. I attended my first concert when I was only 2 weeks old. I knew I was called to be a part of this gospel music family even when I was very small."

Potter graduated from Phil Campbell High School in Phil Campbell, AL and attended the University of North Alabama in Florence. She received her Bachelor of Science in Music with a concentration in Music Business and a minor in Business Administration. She completed her internship under Norman Holland at what is now known as Spring Hill Music Group. She traveled with Jeff and Sheri Easter as their road nanny and office assistant. After leaving the road April returned to Nashville, where she was hired in June of 1996 by The Harper Agency. She served as booking agent until May of 2002. "I felt like the Lord was asking me to leave and step out in faith, so placing my career, finances, hopes and dreams in His hands, I turned in my resignation from the place I had learned to call home. Ed and Jeff and everyone at The Harper Agency have been like family to me, so it was a hard decision to follow through with. I knew the Lord was leading me to do something different and when Mark and LaResa Trammell called me, I knew what I was called to do."

April's first group to sign will be The Mark Trammell Trio. "I am excited about working with Mark and the guys. I have grown to love and respect Mark over the years and after meeting with them, I found out our vision was the same- To evangelize the lost and edify the body of Christ through song," says April.

To contact April Potter Agency, you may write them at P.O. Box 174, Goodlettsville, TN 37070, call at 615-851-9072 or visit their website at www.aprilpotteragency.com

George Younce health update June 28, 2002
George Younce, bass singer of the Cathedrals, has found that his dizzy spells and stomach problems are due to an irregular heart rhythm. This recently was discoverd after he has been wearing a special device to help discover his health problems. Through George's friend, son in law and former Cathedral member Ernie Haase's email he has sent out the following from Gina, George Younce's daughter, who writes:

"George's 30 day "Event Monitor" results show that his episodes are due to an irregular heart rhythm originating in the lower chamber of his heart. When this occurs, it causes the lower and upper chambers to beat out of sync, thus explaining his symptoms of a stomach flutter and lightheadedness. This irregular rhythm, which lasts anywhere from 5 to 8 seconds, also causes a sudden drop in blood pressure which is causing the lightheadedness and dizzy feelings. Therefore, his doctor plans to replace his current ICD (pacemaker/defibrillator) with an upgraded model called a "Duel Chamber" ICD which includes an extra 'lead wire' to help eliminate the arrhythmia. This procedure will be performed at the Cleveland Clinic and will require an overnight stay. We should know the scheduled surgery date by this Wednesday.

"George and his family are elated to finally have an answer to these unexplained and distressing symptoms. We are praising the Lord for answered prayer and for the skilled and caring doctors He has blessed George with both in Akron and Cleveland, and we are very thankful for each one of them. Our family wants you to know that we are sincerely overwhelmed by the medical advice, information, concern, encouragement, love, and much needed prayers you have sent our way these past few months. What can we say, you are definitely the best!!"
